2 Doors Down

Opening in May 2013, 2 Doors Down Food and Wine became known as the “your neighbourhood restaurant in the heart of downtown Halifax” with an approach to food, beverages, and service like its’ parent restaurant, Chives Canadian Bistro (located two doors UP on Barrington Street). Chef/proprietor Craig Flinn and our chef de cuisine Andrew Farrell collaborate to bring a fresh, modern style of casual dishes using a local and seasonal ingredient base. We believe the simplest and most familiar dishes can be prepared in ways that commit them to memory. Working closely with Nova Scotia farmers and artisan food producers, our menus change with the seasons and attempt to showcase local produce with globally inspired flavours.

General manager and wine enthusiast George Davis has assembled small lot and unique wines of affordable value from our own backyard and around the world. Our bar program, led by mixologist Steve “Crusher” Cross, features classic and creative cocktails, local craft beers on tap, and other unique libations that add to a very fun, casual character in the restaurant.

November 2015

In late 2015, we opened 2 Doors Down Bar & Bites adjacent to the restaurant. Offering the full 2 Doors Down seasonal menu, this unique urban space features its own team of mixologists and serves one of the city’s coolest list of creative and classic cocktails. This, along with an extensive craft beer selection, makes this the place to stop for drinks or come for a full meal. 2DDBB routinely holds special events such as tap takeovers by local breweries and spirit tastings and is available for private and corporate events.
