Coffee and Community

Joyful Coffee began in 2016 with Mike Shore’s vision for coffee and community in Rockland. With a background in food and gardening, and a passion for flavours, he started to study coffee roasting. In 2017, Mike found a unique space in downtown Rockland to begin roasting and serving small batches of excellent coffee. Word spread, and things got busy, with a loyal (and growing) client base and a revolving cast of ‘regulars’ finding their joy in this little coffee shop.

In 2019, Adlan Zaidi joined the team, keen to learn about the craft and the industry. A natural talent, Adlan became head roaster in 2020, and a full partner in 2021. Today, Mike and Adlan are proud to be providing a special place and a quality product to the people of Rockland and beyond. Joyful Coffee remains ever grateful to the community which continues to support their hard work, and has been proud to give back by supporting a number of charity initiatives by local schools and sporting leagues.

Le Café et la Communauté

Café Joyeux a commencé en 2016 avec la vision de Mike Shore pour le café et la communauté à Rockland. Avec ses expériences dans l’alimentation et le jardinage, et une passion pour les saveurs, il a commencé à étudier la torréfaction du café. En 2017, Mike a trouvé un espace unique dans le centre-ville de Rockland pour commencer à torréfier et à servir de petits lots d’excellent café. Le mot s’est répandu, et les choses se sont mises à bouger, avec une clientèle fidèle (et croissante) et un casting tournant de ” réguliers ” trouvant leur joie dans ce petit café.

En 2019, Adlan Zaidi a rejoint l’équipe, désireux d’apprendre le métier et l’industrie. Doué d’un talent naturel, Adlan est devenu torréfacteur en chef en 2020, puis associé à part entière en 2021. Aujourd’hui, Mike et Adlan sont fiers d’offrir un lieu spécial et un produit de qualité aux habitants de Rockland et d’ailleurs. Joyful Coffee est toujours reconnaissant envers la communauté qui continue à soutenir leur travail et est fier de rendre la pareille en soutenant un certain nombre d’initiatives caritatives des écoles et des ligues sportives locales.
